We started making quality soft car top carriers as early as 1992. In those days, you could see a few hard-shell car top carriers on the road, but the concept of a soft bag car carrier was new. Soft materials didn’t exist before that time, that could withstand the rigors of high-speed travel on top of a car in all kinds of weather.

Together with several marketing and retail companies, we developed the first products in 1992. In the same year, we began manufacturing what we believe were the first commercially available soft car top carriers in the USA. These carriers were sold under different retail names and were so well received that sales mushroomed over the years.

We continued to improve the design as we learned from continuous testing and as new materials became available. As of November 2004, we had manufactured over 100,000 soft car top carriers in our San Diego factory. We believe no other US manufacturer comes close to those numbers.
